Rangers have a lethal combination in Daniel Candeias and Alfredo Morelos

Rangers cruised to an emphatic 5-0 victory over Kilmarnock on Wednesday night in a fifth round replay of the Scottish Cup.

Steven Gerrard’s side dominated in a match that saw them face just 10 men for most of the contest, as Daniel Bachmann was sent off for the visitors at Ibrox after just 25 minutes.

Alfredo Morelos stole the show with his remarkable four-goal return, while Andy Halliday also got on the scoresheet.

The Light Blues remain in the hunt for silverware and it was a night that belonged to centre-forward Morelos, but he had plenty of help along the way.

Daniel Candeias directly assisted three of his goals with some brilliant play in wide areas and the winger is a vital part of the team when on form.

Morelos, who cost £1.5million (Sky Sports), is now up to 27 goals across all competitions this term and it’s even more impressive considering he doesn’t take penalties.

He seems to bring the best out of all his teammates and right-winger Candeias certainly fits into that category.

Candeias, who cost £700,000 (BBC), appears to love playing with the Colombian and his movement in the penalty area means he can whip some quality crosses into the box.

It’s a partnership that has been ongoing for a while and can cause havoc to defences, but it may no longer be going under the radar after Wednesday night.
