Rangers’ forgotten talent Jordan Rossiter has a night to remember after promotion glory

Jordan Rossiter will have been celebrating last night. The Rangers-owned midfielder played in a 1-1 draw with Tranmere Rovers which confirmed his loan club Bury’s promotion to League One.

Despite serious problems off the pitch, the Shakers have done enough to secure a top three place and Rossiter has been key to that success.

He joined the club on loan from Ibrox in January. Since then he has played 16 times for the club, becoming a pivotal figure in the heart of their midfield.

So, after this success, what next for the Rangers talent?

Once compared to Rangers boss Steven Gerrard there was plenty of excitement when he arrived in Glasgow. Rangers, according to the Daily Mail, paid £250,000 in compensation to sign the player in 2016.

However, his time at Ibrox has been plagued by injury trouble and many felt his loan move to Bury was the beginning of the end.

But, perhaps more important than his good form, Rossiter has managed to stay fit at the English club.

If he can do so for Rangers, there is surely no doubt that Gerrard could accommodate him into his plans in Glasgow.

Hopefully so, because he has suffered enough in recent times and fully deserves his chance to shine in Scotland.
