Rangers flop Umar Sadiq on fire and ready to take down Manchester United

Manchester United take on Partizan Belgrade in the Europa League this week and will be coming up against a familiar face for Rangers fans.

The Serbian side’s main striker is former Ibrox flop Umar Sadiq.

The Nigerian arrived in Glasgow on loan from Roma in July last year. He was supposed to see out a season-long loan at Rangers but did not manage to make an impact in Glasgow. With that in mind, Steven Gerrard allowed his loan deal to be terminated early as Rangers went on to sign Jermain Defoe from Bournemouth.

Sadiq played just four times for Rangers and never looked close to scoring a goal for the club.

A subsequent spell at Perugia was certainly an improvement but he is now on fire at his current club.

Sadiq has scored eight goals in 17 games for the Serbian side so far this season. That includes two goals against Astana in Partizan’s last Europa League clash, which they won 2-1.

Rangers fans will be amazed to hear Sadiq is in such fine form as he never truly looked like a threat during his time at Ibrox.

Tomorrow night he will be looking to get the better of Manchester United and Rangers fans will no doubt be interested to see how he gets on.
