Rangers secured a safe passage into the quarter-final of the Scottish League cup as they comfortably beat East Fife 3-0.
Steven Gerrard’s men were rarely in danger of losing against the League One outfit. Goals from Jermain Defoe, Filip Helander and Joe Aribo eased the Gers through.
The Rangers boss opted to give some of his fringe players a run-out and in large it was a convincing performance from the title hopefuls.

In the next round, the Light Blues will face Livingston away and the Premiership newcomers are expected to provide a tougher test.
Central defender Helander started a game for the first time yesterday. The big Swede signed for the Gers for £3.5 million during the summer, switching from Bologna (The Scottish Sun).
The 26-year-old partnered George Edmundson in the centre of defence and the pair looked good in tandem. The man-mountain’s goal capping a dream first start at his new club.
Helander displayed a composed element to his performance and he could be a big player for Rangers this season.
