Rangers will be looking to end Celtic’s hunt for a fourth consecutive treble on Sunday when the two Old Firm sides meet in the Betfred Cup final at Hampden Park – and Gers fans have urged Steven Gerrard to start Nikola Katic.
Steven Gerrard will be weighing up his options ahead of Sunday’s crucial game, which sees Rangers reach their first final since returning to the Scottish Premiership. The Gers come into the match after dropping points to Celtic in the title race.
Gerrard has opted to use Connor Goldson and Filip Helander in recent matches, with Sweden international Helander impressing since his move from Bologna. But the lofty centre-back is yet to face Celtic, let alone in a Cup final.

Katic, 24, started against Celtic earlier in the season as the Hoops cruised to a 2-0 win at Ibrox. The £1.5million signing (Record), has since been forced to watch from the sidelines – last starting a match for Rangers on October 20.
But the Croatian defender is renowned for his prowess in the air and his warrior-like style to defending – something which Helander also boasts. The only difference between the two players is that Katic boasts more speed.
Rangers fans are aware of that and many supporters have urged Gerrard to hand Katic his first start in almost two months against Neil Lennon’s side, though the likelihood is that Helander will retain his place alongside Goldson.
