Steven Gerrard has been quoted by Rangers’ Youtube account in his pre-Hearts press conference as saying that he will be without two left-backs on Wednesday night – and fans have reacted on Twitter by urging a Lee Wallace recall.
Borna Barisic ruled himself out of the Old Firm derby on Sunday prior to the match, after suffering an injury while on international duty with World Cup finalists Croatia.
Andy Halliday got himself suspended, when, already on a yellow card, he confronted Scott Brown after the full-time whistle. He earned a second yellow card for his part in the melee, and is now suspended.
It leaves the Gers without their first two choices at left-back. Jon Flanagan has played on the left side of defence this season, while USA international Matt Polster is also an option. Gerrard commented on his lack of left-backs.

“Missing two players at Left-back is a bit of a concern but we have a big enough squad to manage,” Gerrard said.
The only other option – if Gerrard wants to remain with a back four – is to recall former Gers captain Lee Wallace and play him at left-back. Wallace has made two appearances this season, and his contract is set to expire this summer.
Rangers fans reacted to Gerrard’s comments in an attempt to convince the Gers boss to play Lee Wallace on the left side of defence, which would see him make his first appearance for Rangers since December.
