Rangers fans unhappy with one bit of deadline business, player exits on loan
Rangers announced the loan exit of Cedric Itten on Tuesday afternoon, joining German side Greuther Furth – and fans are not impressed.
Itten, 24, joined Rangers from Swiss side St. Gallen in the summer of 2020. Scoring 36 goals in 63 games in his home country, fans were excited.
But the Switzerland international has been in and out of the side – struggling to surpass Colombia international Alfredo Morelos at Rangers.
Clocking up 42 appearances since his move to Rangers, Itten has only clocked up six goals and three assists. But now, he has gone on loan.
Itten posted on Instagram, sending a touching message to fans of the Ibrox side following the decision to sanction his loan exit from Glasgow.
What do Rangers fans think as Itten leaves on loan for Greuther Furth?
Rangers are struggling this season. While the Old Firm win over Celtic was a brilliant end to a tricky week, they are still far from their best.
In the game against Celtic itself, Rangers could have easily lost – if Odsonne Edouard and Kyogo Furuhashi found the back of the net on Sunday.
Rangers need to get going. Sometimes, it takes some goals to restore the confidence but for Itten – he has found those hard to come by.
However, his performances have been good in a Rangers shirt when given the chance. Itten might have been a player that helped restore belief.
He has the quality to do so. So, upon hearing Rangers had sanctioned his loan exit, fans were not happy with the loan departure of Itten.
