Rangers have reportedly pulled out of a move for Motherwell winger Jake Hastie – and many of the club’s supporters are split on Twitter about the update.

Steven Gerrard’s team have made a U-turn in their pursuit of the attacker and decided against bringing him to Ibrox (Glasgow Evening Times).

The report details that the Light Blues had already agreed a pre-contract deal with the 20-year-old to sign him in the summer, but have now pulled the plug after it dragged on.

The Gers are now set to look elsewhere to improve their frontline and the Motherwell dazzler will be free to move on to another club.

Hastie is certainly an exciting talent that could have made quite the impact under Gerrard and is a left-footed winger with an eye for goal.

He returned to Motherwell in January after a loan at Alloa Athletic in the first half of the season and has scored five times this calendar year in the Scottish top flight.

A selection of Rangers fans on social media are divided about not signing Hastie, as some feel that he would be a valuable addition going forward for them.

Meanwhile, others feel that it could mean the club may invest elsewhere on the pitch instead and that missing out on him is not the end of the world.
