Rangers fans react to Steven Gerrard’s injury update ahead of Hibernian clash

James Tavernier could return to the starting lineup.

Rangers have been off the boil since returning from the winter break and will be looking to get back on track when they face Hibernian tomorrow night.

They host Jack Ross’ men hoping to recover from the 0-0 home draw against Aberdeen at the weekend and Steven Gerrard has offered an injury update.

As per Rangers’ official Twitter feed, Gerrard said: “James (Tavernier) is available and a lot more ready than the weekend. Greg Stewart is back available and Alfredo has had 90 minutes under his belt.

“Ryan Jack won’t be long but has no chance for tomorrow. Helander, hopefully, will return in around four to five weeks.”

Meanwhile, FourFourTwo reported that Tavernier is set to go back into the starting eleven, having not played a game this year.

Some Rangers fans reacted online to the update on a number of players. There were comments about why Morelos was off the boil against Aberdeen.

Others hoped that captain Tavernier goes straight back into the team, while another felt for Matt Polster if he is the man to miss out after his recent performances.

Rangers need a boost to get some confidence and momentum together in order to put some pressure on Celtic, with one eye also on the resumption of the Europa League later this month as well.
