Rangers lost 3-1 to Bayer Leverkusen at Ibrox last night to leave their hopes of a Europa League quarter-final hanging by a thread.
Kai Havertz opened the scoring from the penalty spot before Charles Aranguiz extended the visitors’ lead.
Centre-back George Edmundson did pull one back and at 2-1 Rangers might have fancied going to Germany with something to play for.

Leon Bailey had other ideas, however, curling home a stunning effort after some neat build-up play.
The third goal for the Bundesliga outfit saw boss Steven Gerrard criticise right-back, Matt Polster.
Gerrard felt that his defender should have taken a yellow card for the team and broke up a promising attack (Daily Record).
The American full-back was introduced as a substitute for James Tavernier and hasn’t played a great deal of football this season.
Polster will hopefully learn from his apparent mistake but it’s fair to say that Gerrard’s critique hasn’t gone down well with supporters.
Many feel that the boss would dream of critiquing the performance of Tavernier; with the suggestion that Polster has been thrown under the bus.

As a result, supporters have taken to Twitter to blast Gerrard’s comments.
With results currently poor, the manager must be careful with his post-match assessments and he doesn’t want to lose the fanbase.
Here is a selection of tweets from Rangers fans who believe Gerrard was unfair with his post-match comments.
