Rangers fans react to Scott Wright display in Ibrox draw
A number of Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Scott Wright after the Gers played out a frustrating draw at Ibrox on Sunday.
Steven Gerrard’s men missed the chance to go three points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership. It had appeared that they were on their way to victory with Fashion Sakala opening the scoring.
However, Motherwell equalised midway through the second-half. And the Gers were unable to find a winner.
It was an underwhelming performance from Rangers with Gerrard probably looking for a response to their Europa League defeat on Thursday.
But one player who seemed to receive some praise on social media was Wright.
The 24-year-old had three attempts on goal and also made three key passes during the contest (Whoscored).
And plenty of fans insisted that he was one of the only members of the Rangers squad who deserved any sort of credit.
In fact, some suggested that he may actually now be ahead of Ryan Kent in the pecking order with Kent making a disappointing start to the season with the champions.
Gerrard has also come in for some criticism on social media after deciding to take both Wright and Sakala off ahead of the final 15 minutes.
‘Want him to get more game-time’: Rangers fans praise Scott Wright
Admittedly, a look on Twitter will show that some were not as impressed by Wright’s display. And there is no doubt that he will come under greater scrutiny as he features more often.
But plenty have praised his display following Rangers’ draw with Well on Sunday…
Scott Wright is the only one out of the new signings who has offered us anything so far IMO. Want him to get more game time.

Need to really start taking these chances! Apart from that it’s been not bad first half. Scott Wright definitely gives it his all, Kent should be worried. Just geez a couple more goals rangers and we will all be happy 👊🔵
