Rangers fans react to Scott Arfield’s display against Hamilton

Rangers fans were critical of Scott Arfield’s performance against Hamilton Academical.

Arfield started for Rangers and lasted 68 minutes before Steven Gerrard hooked him. Sheyi Ojo came on in Arfield’s place for the final 22 minutes.

Despite winning 3-1 – thanks to an opener from Ryan Jack and a Ryan Kent brace – Rangers fans blasted Arfield on social media. The Canada international has not been at his best all season, struggling to get into games and contribute like he did last term.

‘Invisible’

Arfield only has one league goal this season and two assists to his name. His only other goal came in the Europa League qualifying rounds. Rangers fans want Arfield back to his best.

Since joining Rangers from Burnley in summer 2018, the 31-year-old has been used regularly by Steven Gerrard. Last season, he scored 12 goals and provided seven assists. This season, it has not quite been the same story.
