Rangers fans react to Ryan Kent performance in Aberdeen win

Rangers kicked off the Scottish Premiership with a 1-0 away win over Aberdeen – and some of their fans on Twitter gave a special mention to goalscorer Ryan Kent for his contribution.

Steven Gerrard’s team earned a narrow victory over Aberdeen at Pittodrie, but in truth they were dominant for most of the contest and weren’t questioned too much defensively.

The hosts had Andrew Considine sent off late in the contest for his dangerous challenge and it was a frustrating afternoon for his side, with the visitors dominating possesion.

Kent scored the only goal of the contest in the 21st minute, as he latched onto a through ball behind the defence and finished calmly one-on-one past the goalkeeper.

The 23-year-old winger chipped in with eight goals across all competitions last season, but is already off the mark this campaign and looked lively throughout.

He frequently made offensive runs beyond striker Alfredo Morelos and was a goal threat for the opponents.

Rangers were understandably not quite at their best in the opening fixture of the season, but they will need to be at their very sharpest on Thursday for the Europa League last 16 away match against Bayer Leverkusen
