Rangers fans react to report linking club to Leeds United striker Kemar Roofe

Rangers could lose striker Alfredo Morelos this summer. However, according to the Scottish Sun, his replacement is already being lined up in the shape of Kemar Roofe.

The Sun is reporting that Leeds striker Kemar Roofe is a transfer target for Ibrox boss Steven Gerrard.

The Rangers boss has reportedly told Ibrox director of football Mark Allen to identify potential replacements for Colombian hothead Morelos. Roofe is, reportedly, ‘top of the list’.

Leeds are reluctant to sell. However, the 26-year-old has just 12 months left on his contract and therefore Leeds have reportedly slapped a £5 million price-tag on his head.

The report is suggesting that Rangers will only be making a move for Roofe if Morelos goes. The Glasgow side cannot afford to pay £5 million and Roofe’s £10,000-a-week wages otherwise.

Rangers fans are of course reluctant to lose Morelos but realistic enough to know his exit is on the cards.

Plenty on twitter have now been discussing Roofe as an alternative.

The general consensus is that Rangers would be making a good addition in Roofe.

His form in the Championship highlights his scoring ability and Roofe could easily be a big hit at Ibrox.

But some fans are in disbelief at the price-tag. Many cannot see why Leeds would sell so cheap and some Rangers fans do not believe £5 million is a likely transfer fee.
