Rangers progressed into the last 16 of the Europa League with a 5-2 demolition of Royal Antwerp at Ibrox.

The result saw the Gers progress into the next stage 9-5 on aggregate, with five different scorers helping themselves to goals.

Alfredo Morelos, Nathan Patterson, Ryan Kent, Borna Barisic and Cedric Itten were all on the mark to deny the Belgian outfit.

Patterson was introduced at half-time last night and made an immediate impact on the game.

The 19-year-old scored just a minute into the second half to give Rangers the catalyst for their huge win.

Steven Gerrard’s men are playing some wonderful football at the moment and are yet to lose in the Premiership, or the Europa League, this season.

Patterson was the name on everyone’s lips after last night’s encounter and he’ll hope to kick on now.

He has made just five appearances in all competitions, largely acting as an understudy to James Tavernier.

With the captain injured more opportunities could be forthcoming and this performance will have done his chances no harm.

Following his goalscoring display, we looked at what supporters were saying about the academy graduate on Twitter.
