Rangers fans react to performance of Cedric Itten against Kilmarnock

Rangers continued their impressive run of form with a 1-0 win over Kilmarnock at Rugby Park and supporters were keen to praise Cedric Itten for his contribution to the cause.

The Swiss striker made just his second Premiership start for the Gers but proved a constant nuisance for the home side’s defence.

Steven Gerrard’s men are nine points clear of Celtic, although their Glaswegian rivals do have two games in hand on their fierce rivals.

James Tavernier scored Rangers’ winner from the penalty spot as the Gers kept yet another clean sheet this season.

It was the performance of Itten which drew the most praise on Twitter though with supporters delighted with the 23-year-old forward.

He arrived in the summer from St Gallen and has found the net on two occasions for the Ibrox-based outfit.

Itten has struggled to pin down a regular place in the team but his performance here will have given him high confidence ahead of the rest of the season.

There is lots of competition for places at Ibrox and showing his worth in a different position to a striker will certainly help his cause.
