Scotland’s under-19 side pulled off a fantastic victory yesterday, getting the better of Germany in a UEFA Under-19 Championship qualifier. Considering this is a Germany side fresh out of thrashing Belarus 9-2 and Scotland’s young bairns can take even more pleasure in the win.
Rangers fans, in particular, were left very happy with the result.
Not only did Ibrox kids Dapo Mebude, Kai Kennedy, James Maxwell and Ciaran Dickson all take part, but one of Rangers’ star talents scored the only goal of the game.
Josh McPake smashed home at the near-post of Heidenheim stopper Diant Ramaj’s near-post to give Scotland the 1-0 win.
Rangers fans are rightly excited by the attacker. His form for club and country youth teams saw Liverpool and Roma interested in his services, according to the Daily Record, back in June.
He soon signed a new Ibrox deal and Steven Gerrard gave him a debut in the Europa League qualifier with St Joseph’s earlier this season.
But with first-team opportunities slim he was loaned out to Dundee for the foreseeable future where Gerrard will hope he can begin to grow into a potential Rangers first-team option.
Based on last night’s evidence, Rangers have a gem on their hands.
Love it 💙💙 https://t.co/8PoKd2M3oe
