Rangers fans react to Jon Flanagan training tweet

Rangers are currently in Portugal for a pre-season training camp and it is clear that the players are being out through their paces. 

Steven Gerrard is undoubtedly hopeful of closing the gap on Celtic further this season with some fans believing a serious title challenge could be on the cards.

Jon Flanagan was a free agent following his exit from Burnley. The full-back’s promising career had been decimated by injury and off-field problems. But Rangers boss Gerrard knows Flanagan personally and took a chance on the one time England international. 

The results were mixed. Flanagan was in and out of the squad at Rangers last term. However, he did start the final two games of the season and it seems he is in Gerrard’s plans for the new season. 

Despite some inconsistent form, Flanagan did demonstrate a work-rate and attitude that Rangers fans clearly appreciate. As he posted a tweet from Portugal yesterday, many of the Ibrox faithful were quick to praise the 26-year-old for looking in top condition ahead of another campaign in Glasgow…
