Rangers fans react to Joe Aribo display

A number of Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Joe Aribo after the 25-year-old produced one of the few impressive performances for Steven Gerrard’s side in their defeat on Saturday.

After victory at Ibrox on the opening day of the new Scottish Premiership season, Rangers travelled to Dundee United this weekend.

Unfortunately, it proved to be another disappointing result this week for the Gers. They were second-best for much of the contest.

And they were punished with the decisive goal coming shortly after the hour mark.

In truth, most of the Rangers players were off the pace. They really struggled to break down the home side. And they rarely looked like scoring at any stage in the contest.

Filip Helander did reasonably well at the back. And Scott Wright looked bright after coming on.

But it does seem that some fans felt that Aribo was one of the only players who could hold his head up high.

The Nigeria international produced some nice touches, particularly in and around the penalty area. It was his brilliant burst that set Alfredo Morelos up for an early half-chance.

Gerrard will be extremely concerned by the manner of the performance. But Aribo was one member of the squad who avoided much of the criticism.

With that in mind, here is how some of the Rangers fans reacted to Aribo’s performance…
