Steven Gerrard’s future at Rangers has plunged into further doubt as The Gers suffered a 1-0 defeat at Ibrox to lowly Hamilton – and supporters feel sorry for January recruit Ianis Hagi on Twitter.
Rangers came into the match after Gerrard claimed after Saturday’s Scottish Cup defeat to Hearts that he would consider his future as manager. In the pre-Hamilton press conference, he stated that he was ready to go again.
But he will surely be fuming – just as he was after the Hearts loss – after Rangers failed to even secure a point against Hamilton. David Moyo scored the only goal of the game just before the hour mark, after netting from close range.

Rangers hit the woodwork twice through Hagi and Alfredo Morelos – the latter struggling to rediscover his scoring form that saw him shine in the first half of the season. The Gers have lost their rhythm, and their confidence.
With Celtic drawing with Livingston, The Hoops have now gone 13 points clear. Hagi, 24, has scored three goals for Rangers since joining the club but failed to make the difference – despite being at the heart of everything The Gers did.
Rangers fans reacted to his performance, with many stating that they felt sorry for the 10-time Romania international that he had to play alongside his underperforming teammates. Some believe he needs to be signed permanently.
