A number of Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to laud Glenn Middleton after the youngster scored twice on Tuesday to put the Ibrox side’s Colts into the Glasgow Cup final.
The Gers were able to name an incredibly exciting side for their clash with Clyde. Leon King captained the team, while Jamie Barjonas joined Middleton in the lineup.

There were a number of standout performances. But Middleton made the crucial difference as he scored both of their goals in the 2-0 win.
One of his strikes came from a sumptuous free-kick during the second-half. And unsurprisingly, plenty of Rangers fans were left raving about the winger’s performance following the victory.

Middleton has not had the easiest time since moving to Ibrox. He initially looked to be on the way to becoming a fairly important player in Steven Gerrard’s ranks. He played 27 times during his first full season with the Gers.
However, he has since only made one appearance for Rangers. He spent last season out on loan. And he struggled to prove a point while away from Ibrox.
It looks more difficult than ever right now for a youngster to break into Gerrard’s first-team plans. And some may have their concerns about whether Middleton will be able to make the grade with Rangers should they keep progressing.
But there is no question that he has done his chances of getting back into the fold no harm at all with his latest display.
Here is how some of the fans reacted to Middleton’s performance and goals this week…
