Rangers may have missed out on putting one foot in the knockout stages of the Europa League after an almost stunning performance on Thursday night, but the fans could not help but rave about Glen Kamara’s display.

It looked as though it could be a long night for the Gers. They went 1-0 down inside two minutes against Benfica. However, they went to produce a sensational response before a frustrating late comeback from the home side meant the game finished 3-3.

After an equaliser came from an own goal, it was Kamara who put the Gers in front. It was a delicious move from the Light Blues. And it culminated in the Finland international driving the ball into the bottom corner from the edge of the box.

Kamara’s influence in the game arguably started much earlier. It was the 25-year-old who seemed to keep his head when Rangers were coming under real pressure in the early stages.

He brought some real composure to the side that really helped drive the Gers forward. As shown by Whoscored.com, he was one of Rangers’s most prolific passers of the ball. But he also won a number of challenges for his side.

And his performance in the draw prompted a number of fans to take to social media to heap praise  on the midfielder.

Kamara seems to have an amazing ability to raise his game for Rangers’s biggest fixtures. And that left many imploring the club to get the midfielder tied down to a new contract as soon as possible.
