Borna Barisic had an afternoon to forget on Sunday as Rangers suffered a surprise 2-1 defeat to Kilmarnock at Rugby Park to end their campaign on a bad note – and Gers fans are fed up with the Croatian left-back.

Rangers went into the match after six consecutive wins, including an excellent 2-0 win over Old Firm rivals Celtic last time out at Ibrox. But at Rugby Park, Rangers struggled in what looks likely to be Stevie Clarke’s last match.

Glen Kamara was caught in possession, before Barisic was caught miles out of position – allowing former Gers winger Chris Burke to open the scoring inside the first 10 minutes.

With the score at 1-1, Barisic then fouled Stephen O’Donnell with a somewhat needless foul in the penalty area. Eamonn Brophy scored past substitute goalkeeper Andy Firth to give Killie a 2-1 win.

Barisic, 26, has struggled in his first season with Rangers. So much so, that the Croatia international has recently been dropped for Jon Flanagan. He has been described as too soft, while injuries have taken their toll.

Rangers fans reacted on Twitter to Barisic’s display, and many are now fed up with the former NK Osijek defender. With the summer window now open, fans are desperate to offload the left-back.
