Rangers fans react to Alfredo Morelos’s goal for Colombia

A number of Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to react after Alfredo Morelos bagged his first goal for his country with a 93rd minute winner – with plenty taking the opportunity to take a shot at another Scottish Premiership striker.

Morelos was unsurprisingly included in Colombia’s squad for this international break. The 23-year-old has scored 22 goals in just 26 games for the Gers this season. That includes 11 goals in 12 Europa League appearances.

And he has ticked off another achievement in his latest appearance. The striker bagged his first international goal with a stoppage-time winner against Peru.

It will undoubtedly be a massive moment for Morelos. And Rangers fans will be hoping that it proves to be a boost to their hopes of keeping the youngster for as long as possible.

He has been in and out of the side since making his senior debut in 2018. Of course, he missed out on the chance to play at the Copa America earlier this year. And he may have been forgiven for wondering whether he could realise his international ambitions while at Ibrox.

But now he has now shown that he can make an impact at the highest level for club and country. His departure at some stage may still be inevitable, but Rangers fans are clearly seeing a positive side to his goal.

Several have suggested that he has added another £10 million to his price-tag. And they have also taken the opportunity to respond to the Celtic fans who rave about Odsonne Edouard’s remarkable record for France’s under-21s.

The 21-year-old has scored 10 goals in just five games for the side. But many Rangers supporters now feel that that achievement has already been dwarfed by Morelos scoring for his country’s senior side.

Here is how some of the Rangers fans have reacted to Morelos’s goal…
