Rangers fans react on Twitter to Jordan Jones’s cup display

A number of Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Jordan Jones’s performance during the Gers’ Scottish Cup win on Friday night.

It has not been an easy time for Jones since his move to Ibrox in the summer. He went into Friday’s tie with Stranraer having not played for Steven Gerrard’s side since the start of September due to injury.

Given the circumstances that saw him collect the injury, the Northern Ireland international may have felt under a little more pressure to make an impact against the League One side.

However, it was to prove to be a fairly underwhelming night for the winger.

Rangers cruised through to the last 16 with a 2-0 win at Ibrox. But it was not a performance that will live long in the memory.

And it is perhaps fair to say that a few of the club’s fringe players struggled to catch the eye.

Jones is arguably not a fringe player. But he is one that will need to work his way back into the side after being sidelined for several months.

However, a number of fans clearly feel that the 24-year-old has a long way to go before he secures a regular spot in the team.

Plenty were unhappy with his performance. But they are desperately hoping that his display was largely down to how long he has been out of the team.
