A number of Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Filip Helander’s display as the Gers picked up yet another win on Wednesday.

Steven Gerrard’s side remain 16 points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership. Goals from Kemar Roofe and Alfredo Morelos gave the Light Blues the win at St Mirren.

The game saw Helander come back into the starting lineup. The Swede was an unused substitute for the Boxing Day win over Hibernian, with Leon Balogun getting the nod alongside Connor Goldson.

But Helander appears to have staked a claim for a starting spot in Saturday’s Old Firm clash at Ibrox. Plenty of fans have lauded the centre-back’s performance as Rangers kept another clean sheet.

As shown by Whoscored.com, Steven Davis was the only player to complete more passes than the 27-year-old. Meanwhile, he won four aerial duels and made three clearances.

He dealt superbly with the threat posed by Jonathan Obika. And many have now suggested that they would like Helander to keep his place against Celtic.

Many felt that the defender was the standout performer for Rangers on another impressive day for Gerrard’s side as they look to keep their challengers at arm’s length.

Here is how some of the Rangers supporters reacted to Helander’s performance…
