Rangers fans react on Twitter to Brandon Barker’s league debut

Rangers fans feel that they may have something special on their hands after Ryan Kent’s second debut for the club was overshadowed by the performance of Brandon Barker.

It appeared however, that the Gers may be about to lose more ground in the early stages of the title race as they went behind to a penalty early on in the second-half.

But Rangers struck back with three goals to secure the three points. James Tavernier equalised with a free-kick before Alfredo Morelos put the home side in front. It was Barker who rounded off the victory with an emphatic strike into the top corner.

The winger was only on the pitch after Kent sustained a hamstring injury during the first-half. There would have been a huge amount of disappointment when the summer signing came off, but Barker proved a point about the depth that the Gers possess.

And the Rangers fans on social media have lauded the impact that the former Manchester City man made once he replaced Kent. Some were unconvinced about the 22-year-old when Gerrard brought him to Ibrox, but plenty are clearly delighted to admit that they may have been wrong about the youngster.

Here is what some of the Rangers supporters were saying about Barker’s performance after the win…
