Rangers fans react on Twitter to Borna Barisic’s Europa League display

A number of Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Borna Barisic’s display as the Gers made it back-to-back wins in the Europa League at Ibrox on Thursday.

Steven Gerrard’s men got off to a flying start in the competition last week in Belgium. However, there was a downside for the Light Blues in a game which saw Kemar Roofe score from inside his own half.

Barisic was replaced during the first-half due to injury. In fairness, Calvin Bassey has been superb since coming in. But it would have pleased a lot of Rangers fans to see the Croatian back in the starting lineup for their clash with Lech Poznan.

It appeared that it may prove a frustrating night for Rangers. The Gers were the better side throughout the contest. However, the game was still goalless as the final 20 minutes loomed.

But then, Barisic produced a moment of incredible quality. The left-back played an outrageous cross into the area that found Alfredo Morelos on the edge of the six-yard box.

The Colombian made the most of the chance and headed home the decisive goal.

Morelos seemed to embrace the large majority of his teammates after scoring. But Barisic appeared to get the most emphatic hug of the lot with the striker recognising the moment of brilliance.

It was a hard-fought win for Rangers. But Barisic’s display received a host of plaudits on social media following the contest.

Here is what some of the fans were saying about Barisic…
