Rangers fans react on Twitter to Borna Barisic’s display

A number of Rangers fans have suggested that Borna Barisic is looking like the player that the club thought they were signing last summer after his excellent performance against St Johnstone on Sunday.

Steven Gerrard’s side kept the pressure on Celtic with an emphatic win at McDiarmid Park. Alfredo Morelos broke the deadlock before Connor Goldson scored Rangers’s second on the hour-mark.

Jermain Defoe would wrap up the scoring with a brace late on as the Gers ensured that they followed up their emotional performance on Thursday with another victory.

Barisic had come close to breaking the deadlock during the first-half. He took a free-kick on the edge of the area, but he could not quite curl his effort enough to find the back of the net.

The Croatian was excellent as Rangers kept a clean sheet. He was defensively solid, and showed some of the quality going forward that the Ibrox faithful have not seen enough of in recent months.

Barisic had been superb in midweek against Feyenoord. And plenty of supporters on social media have now suggested that the left-back looks to have completely turned a corner. Several fans insisted that he was one of the most impressive performers in the 4-0 victory.
