Rangers fans react on Twitter to Borna Barisic interest reports

A number of Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to comment on reports from Calciomercato Web suggesting that Borna Barisic is attracting Serie A attention ahead of January.

Barisic has enjoyed a sensational run of form this season. It looked a safe bet to assume that the Croatian would be sold by Steven Gerrard in the summer after an underwhelming first campaign.

But the left-back stayed and he has been a revelation for the Gers. He has made an impact at both ends of the pitch, including six assists in the Scottish Premiership and four in the Europa League.

No player has provided more in the latter competition. And after contributing both assists in the 2-1 win over Celtic on Sunday, it appears that other clubs are really starting to take notice.

Calciomercato Web reports that both Roma and AC Milan have taken an interest in Barisic. It remains to be seen what Rangers’s stance on the 27-year-old is, but the Gers would certainly be wise to reject all interest.

Plenty of fans on social media have suggested that Rangers cannot afford to sell Barisic next month. Replacing him looks to be an almost impossible task right now.

And it has been suggested by a number of supporters that Rangers should have no interest in selling for anything less than £50 million. It has been an incredible transformation for the defender, and the reaction to the reports highlights that.
