Rangers fans react on Twitter to Andy Halliday’s display

If there was a moment that best summed up Andy Halliday’s time at Rangers since Steven Gerrard arrived at Ibrox, it arguably came on Sunday after he picked up a nasty facial injury.

Halliday started at left-back for the Gers’ clash with Livingston. Rangers picked up the three points thanks to a Scott Arfield goal. But plenty of the headlines centre around Halliday’s injury during the second-half.

The 28-year-old went over the advertising hoardings and seemed to land on an upturned stool.

The collision left Halliday with a gash above his eye. And it would have probably surprised few of the supporters nearby if the utility man was taken off.

However, Halliday carried on bandaged up and finished the game as Rangers collected an important three points.

And with his overall performance impressing many of the Gers supporters, it is no surprise to see Halliday receiving a number of plaudits on social media after the game.

Many felt that he did a very good job filling in for Borna Barisic. Some have even suggested that he was their man of the match following the win.

And others have insisted that Halliday’s response to the injury provided the perfect example of why he is an ideal player to have amongst the squad.

He rarely fails to give absolutely everything while he is out on the pitch. And while he may not contend for the Ballon d’Or anytime soon, plenty of Rangers fans are clearly proud that he plays for their club.

Here is what some of the Rangers fans were saying about Halliday’s display after the win over Livingston…
