Rangers fans react on Twitter as Ryan Jack signs new contract

A number of Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to express their delight at the announcement that the club made on their official website that Ryan Jack has signed a new contract at Ibrox.

Jack has been one of the club’s best players during Steven Gerrard’s tenure. And he appears to have stepped his game up another level so far this season.

Rangers confirm that Jack’s previous deal had been set to expire in 2021. So it was little surprise that the club decided to open talks regarding a fresh deal for the 27-year-old.

And the club have now announced that Jack has penned a two-year extension with the Gers, meaning that he is set to stay at Ibrox until 2023.

The news has, unsurprisingly, been met with a lot of delight on social media. Jack has been an outstanding signing for the Light Blues after arriving on a free transfer from Aberdeen.

His absence was felt at the weekend as Rangers toiled to a draw at Hearts. The supporters were expecting the midfielder to be missed, but the game certainly highlighted just how important he has become for Gerrard’s men.

And not only are the Rangers fans pleased to see Jack’s deal extended, but there have also been several imploring Gerrard to make him the club’s captain.

James Tavernier has struggled lately. And it appears that some of the supporters believe that Jack would be a better candidate to wear the armband.
