Rangers fans react on Twitter as Josh McPake edges closer to Dundee loan

Rangers fans react on Twitter as Josh McPake edges closer to Dundee loan

The Rangers winger is set to leave Ibrox and join Dundee on a loan deal this week.

Rangers look set to allow young winger Josh McPake to join Dundee on loan in the coming days. As reported by the BBC, the player was in attendance as the Scottish Championship side took on Aberdeen in the Betfred Cup yesterday. The Daily Record is suggesting the loan spell will run until January when it could then be extended until the end of the season.

It seems Steven Gerrard is ready to allow a move to Dens Park for the youngster, who signed a new contract at Rangers earlier this summer.

Fans of the Ibrox club know just how talented the 17-year-old is and he clearly has a future in Glasgow.

This summer, prior to his new deal at Rangers, the likes of Liverpool, Roma, and Borussia Monchengladbach were all linked with his services by the Daily Record.

However, the pathway to first-team football at Rangers, especially in the wide areas, is blocked at present.

McPake, who made his senior debut against St Josephs in the Europa League earlier this season, would likely be playing with the Colts team for the 2019-20 campaign.

So plenty of Rangers fans are happy to hear that their star Ibrox talent is set for a period out on loan. Playing under his namesake James McPake in the second tier could see him get plenty of first-team football and hopefully develop into the star Rangers fans expect him to be.

Here is how some Rangers fans reacted to the news on Twitter…
