Steven Gerrard has claimed in his Rangers press conference on Friday, posted on the club’s official Youtube account, that he is not interested in disclosing Ryan Jack’s valuation – and Rangers fans are delighted with their manager’s response.
Jack, 27, has been on fire for Rangers in recent weeks. A stunning display in Portugal as The Gers held FC Porto to a draw was following by two goals from the Scotland international during Wednesday night’s 4-0 win over Ross County.
The former Aberdeen star showed his class by curling two into the back of the net from the edge of the area, one with his left foot and the other with his right. The hype is increasing around Jack as he continues to shine.
There has been no reports over clubs becoming interested in Jack thus far, though there are still two months to go before the January transfer window. Gerrard was asked what Jack’s value is, but the Gers gaffer refused to comment.
“Ryan is bringing the best out of himself, he is the one that deserves the credit,” Gerrard said. “He is a leader, he is smiling and enjoying his football. I’m not interested in Ryan’s value, he’s not going anywhere.”
Jack signed a new deal in October as reward for his excellent start to 2019-20, as his work in the engine room continues to push Rangers towards the League Cup final, Europa League knockout stages and the top of the Scottish Premiership.
Rangers fans reacted to Gerrard’s comments on the future of Jack and his valuation, and were delighted that their manager has completely dismissed any talk over the box-to-box midfielder.
