Rangers fans react as Sheyi Ojo gets on the scoresheet

Sheyi Ojo scored a much-needed goal as Rangers thrashed Hibernian at Ibrox on Saturday. Rangers ran riot in the Scottish Premiership match to beat 10-man Hibs 6-1 in Glasgow.

Jermain Defoe scored a hat-trick, Alfredo Morelos grabbed a brace and Ojo put the cherry on the top with an injury-time goal. The young winger, on loan from Liverpool, drilled the ball home via a deflection with little time remaining.

Ojo had also played his part in helping Rangers build up a big lead. The Englishman’s long-range effort was too powerful for Ofir Marciano and Defoe tapped home to give Rangers the lead. And he set up Defoe’s second with a good cross.

The 22-year-old now has three goals for Rangers after netting against St Joseph’s and Progres in the Europa League qualifiers. Ojo is now off the mark in the Scottish Premiership and will be hoping to kick on from here.

Ojo has received a bit of criticism for his recent performances but he produced a fine display against Hibs. He is showing Rangers fans that he can fill Ryan Kent’s boots on the wing once he adapts to life in Scotland. Here are some tweets respecting his latest performance.
