Rangers fans react as Nathan Patterson included in Scotland's Euro 2020 squad

Rangers defender Nathan Patterson has been included in Steve Clarke’s 26-man squad that will compete at this summer’s Euro 2020 tournament – and Rangers fans are delighted for their academy product on Twitter, after it was confirmed.

Patterson, 19, only made his Rangers debut under Steven Gerrard last season and has just 16 senior Rangers appearances to his name. But 14 of those 16 have come this season for Rangers under Gerrard, and it has done enough to convince Clarke.

Scotland do struggle for options on the right side of their defence and that has seen Patterson have a bit of a free run at securing his place for the competition, with Motherwell’s Stephen O’Donnell the other option for Clarke at right-back.

Other slightly noteworthy inclusions are Celtic’s Jack Hendry who is on loan at KV Oostende, Leeds United skipper Liam Cooper, Chelsea midfielder Billy Gilmour and Hibernian attacker Kevin Nisbet. Che Adams will also be a part of the side.

Rangers fans took to Twitter after it was confirmed that Patterson had been included in Clarke’s squad for Euro 2020, and many are of course, delighted to see Patterson called up.

Celtic fans left short-changed by Sky Sports once again

He is only one of two Rangers players included – alongside Jon McLaughlin, with Ryan Jack injured.
