Livingston have confirmed the signing of Jason Holt on a free transfer after the midfielder was released by Rangers at the end of last season – and Gers fans have reacted on Twitter.
Holt, 27, was a free agent after his contract at Ibrox came to an end earlier this summer. He last turned out for the Gers in a 5-5 draw against Hibernian in May 2018 – a match in which he scored, but also got sent off.
The uncapped Scottish midfielder has since been down south with Joey Barton’s Fleetwood Town in which he impressed – playing 36 times for the third-tier outfit and even scoring on two separate occasions.
Last season, he joined St. Johnstone but was somewhat in and out of the side. Now, Livingston have swooped to sign Holt which sees the former Scotland Under-21 ace join his fifth Scottish side.
Holt will be looking to get his career back on track, after ending his stay at Rangers which saw the midfielder clock up an impressive 115 appearances in all competitions. He has signed a two-year deal at the Tony Macaroni Stadium.
Rangers fans reacted to the news that Holt has moved to Livingston – joining namesake and manager Gary Holt. Many believe it is the ideal move for the terrier-like midfielder.
