Josh Windass has reminisced on Twitter after a video re-emerged of his goal for Rangers in a 3-1 win over Hearts at Murrayfield last season – and Rangers fans have reacted, with some urging him to return to Ibrox.
The 25-year-old scored Rangers’ third to put the game beyond doubt. He cut in from the left flank before firing past Jon McLaughlin in the Hearts goal. Kyle Lafferty had put Hearts ahead, but Kenny Miller replied with a brace.
It was Graeme Murty’s first match of a second spell in charge. Pedro Caixinha had been sacked just days before the outing, after a disappointing 1-1 draw away at Kilmarnock.

Windass was on fire for the Gers during 2017-18. He scored 18 goals and created eight more, but Steven Gerrard opted to sell him to Wigan Athletic for £2.5million (Scottish Sun) last summer.
He reacted on Twitter after the goal was uploaded by a fan account, captioning the fan footage of his goal and supporters celebrations as “What a day this was at Murrayfield”.

Rangers would go on to finish third for the second consecutive season under Murty. The interim manager failed to catch Celtic – with the 3-2 loss to the Hoops seemingly sucking the life out of the Rangers team.
Rangers fans reacted on Twitter to Windass’ post, with many fans telling the versatile attacker and son of Hull City legend Dean, that they miss him. Some even encouraged Windass to return to Ibrox.
