Rangers fans react as Joe Aribo returns to the starting line-up with a goal

Joe Aribo scored his first league goal.

Joe Aribo marked his return to the starting line-up with a goal against Livingston.

In Sunday’s Scottish Premiership match, Aribo opened the scoring for Rangers. Alfredo Morelos made it 2-0 shortly after half-time as the Gers brushed Livingston off to keep up the pace with Celtic.

Bitter rivals Celtic also won 2-0 (against Motherwell) to stay at the top of the league. But Rangers are level on points with their Old Firm counterparts and sit just one behind on goal difference.

Aribo got the ball rolling on Sunday with a fine finish on 32 minutes. It was his first goal in the league since his summer move from Charlton Athletic. Aribo does, however, have four goals in other competitions.

The Nigeria international was dropped from the starting line-up in midweek. He was named on the bench against FC Porto at Ibrox. Rangers won 2-0 and Aribo had a seven-minute cameo.

With Steven Gerrard keen to rotate his options, Aribo then started on Sunday. The 23-year-old ensured he made his point by scoring a goal and producing an impressive performance.

Here are some tweets from Rangers fans discussing Aribo’s showing on Sunday afternoon.
