Rangers continued to strengthen their lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership table with a comfortable 2-0 win away at St. Mirren on Wednesday afternoon – and supporters have heaped praise on midfielder Joe Aribo.
Aribo, 24, was handed his second successive Scottish Premiership start after coming on at half-time against Motherwell earlier this month and impressing. He kept his place against St. Johnstone, and then St. Mirren.
A moment of brilliance from Ianis Hagi saw Rangers open the scoring. He turned and played a delightful pass into Kemar Roofe, who saw his shot – which was on target – deflect into the back of the net off a defender.

It was 2-0 before the break. A mistake by St. Mirren saw Alfredo Morelos race through on goal and the Colombian finally broke his lack of form in front of goal with a lovely finish – days before this weekend’s clash against Celtic.
Aribo, who earns £20,000-a-week (Sun) at Rangers, has clocked up 19 appearances in all competitions this season and while he has scored four goals and laid on two assists – his ability in midfield is so much more than just stats.
Rangers supporters raved about Aribo on Twitter during and after the match which saw Rangers keep their 16-point advantage over Neil Lennon’s side going into the Old Firm derby on Saturday.
