Jason Cummings has told loan side Luton Town’s official Twitter account that he used to be compared to Manchester United legend Ruud van Nistelrooy – and Rangers fans have reacted hilariously, as has Josh Windass.
The 23-year-old is currently on loan at League One promotion contenders Luton Town from Nottingham Forest. He was with Peterborough United at the start of the campaign, before moving to Luton in January.
Cummings was compared to former England striker Teddy Sheringham by his manager Mick Harford after the Scotland international came off the Luton bench to score a late equaliser in a 2-2 draw with Blackpool.

The former Rangers loanee reacted to the comments his manager made, by stating that former Manchester United and Tottenham man Sheringham was before his time – but that he was nicknamed “Ruud van Cumdog.”
“Teddy Sheringham? He’s not really my era is he,” Cummings said. “I used to get called Ruud van Nistelrooy. Ruud van Cumdog. I’ve never been compared to Teddy but I’ll take it.”
Cummings is struggling for game time at Luton, managing only three substitute appearances under Harford since joining the club in the January window. His game time totals 19 minutes.
Rangers fans and Josh Windass reacted to their former loanee, who played at Ibrox during the second half of the 2017-18 campaign. Many thought Cummings’ comments were hilarious.
