Glenn Middleton has excited Rangers fans on Twitter by posting an intriguing Tweet after Arsenal opted to release midfielder Charlie Gilmour at the end of his contract.
Middleton, 19, has played alongside Gilmour in Scotland’s Under-19 side during his short career. The Scottish Sun claim Gilmour is a big fan of Rangers, and even his Grandfather is keen to see the 20-year-old play for the Gers.
Gilmour played two times for Arsenal’s senior side this season in the Europa League, after starring for the club’s reserve side over the past couple of seasons. Despite his debut, the Gunners opted against offering him a new deal.
Arsenal confirmed Gilmour’s exit on Twitter in a heartfelt Tweet to the young midfielder, and Middleton reacted to the news by potentially hinting at a move to Ibrox by Tweeting: “Big things coming up…”.

Rangers fans reacted to Middleton’s Tweet about Scotland youth teammate Gilmour, and many are excited that the midfielder could be on his way to Ibrox this summer – joining the club he has always supported.
