Rangers produced a stunning performance in the Netherlands on Thursday night with a 4-0 win over Eredivisie side Willem II to reach the Europa League play-off stage – and Gers supporters were delighted with Glen Kamara’s display.
Kamara, 24, has become a crucial part of the Rangers side since joining the club from Dundee in January 2019. Since his bargain £50,000 move, the 21-time Finland international has clocked up 63 appearances in all competitions.
The former Arsenal academy product started his eighth match of the 2019-20 campaign, and sparkled in a Rangers side that were very clinical in front of goal. James Tavernier broke the deadlock as the Gers skipper scored from the penalty spot.

Just moments later, a long-range shot from Alfredo Morelos was parried by the Willem goalkeeper – only for Ryan Kent to follow up and bundle the ball home. Both centre-backs got their names on the score sheet, heading home from corners.
Filip Helander netted first, before Connor Goldson nabbed a fourth goal for the Gers. Kamara looked assured in possession, but was also excellent in stopping any Willem attack – as the Gers kept a ninth clean sheet in their tenth outing this season.
Rangers supporters have reacted on Twitter to Kamara’s performance, and many were delighted with the ball-playing midfield ace. One fan labelled Kamara as “absolutely understanding”, while another said he was “levels above anyone” during the match.
