Rangers have reportedly left out Daniel Candeias from their Europa League side to take on St. Joseph’s on Tuesday night in the Europa League qualifying round – and many feel like his time could be up at Ibrox.

The Daily Record have released the 23-man list to take on the side from Gibraltar on Tuesday and next week. Candeias, 31, is nowhere to be seen despite being a key player in the senior side last term.

Instead, new signings Greg Stewart, Jake Hastie and Jordan Jones have all been included over the Portugal international, as have Sheyi Ojo and Scott Arfield. Candeias is not the only big-name omission.

Andy Firth, Kyle Lafferty and Eros Grezda have missed out, while Jon Flanagan and Jamie Murphy are injured. Arfield is likely to only be available for the first leg. Youngsters such as Josh McPake and Dapo Mebude can play.

Though this is only for the first round of the qualifying stages, leaving out Candeias is a big call by Gerrard given the impact of the Portuguese star over the last two seasons. Clocking up 97 outings, he has scored 14 and created 25.

In last season’s Europa League campaign, Candeias netted in the 4-3 defeat to Spartak Moscow and laid on assists against Villarreal and Rapid Vienna. Rangers fans have reacted to his omission.
