Rangers are reportedly looking to raid Liverpool once again under Steven Gerrard with a move to sign striker Rhian Brewster on loan this summer – and Gers fans are desperate to see the youngster in a Light Blue shirt.
The Scottish Sun have claimed that Gerrard – who has previously signed Ovie Ejaria, Ryan Kent and Sheyi Ojo from Liverpool – is keen to use his Anfield connections to bring the highly-rated Brewster north of the border.
England Under-21 international Brewster has recently agreed to remain at Championship side Swansea City until the conclusion of the 2019-20 campaign, with football set to resume later this month.
Since joining Swansea in January after making his first three senior Liverpool outings in the first half of the campaign, Brewster has netted four goals in 11 games for the Welsh outfit.
But with doubts over Alfredo Morelos’ future, Flo Kamberi only on loan from Hibernian and Jermain Defoe entering what could be his final season at professional level – a new striker is needed and Brewster has been identified.
Brewster worked under Gerrard during the latter’s spell as Liverpool Under-18’s boss, and he once raved about Brewster to the Echo: ““Everyone has seen it all over the world that Rhian is capable of scoring goals. You are only as good as your last game, and against Sevilla he was magnificent,” Gerrard said, back in 2017.
Rangers supporters took to Twitter following reports that Brewster could become the club’s fourth signing after Ianis Hagi, Charlie Lindsay and Calvin Bassey – and many are excited at seeing the striker in a Rangers strip.
I'd be all for this.
Of the Liverpool loan players we've had or been linked to, he has the most promise. https://t.co/k0SLn5t3FP

Hopefully he’s better than the spineless Ojo.

I’ve seen him looks a bit small for the SPL could get bullied
Doubt he’ll be used as a out and out striker

SG will have to look beyond Liverpool for players. I want our own youth to come through, not some other mobs.
