Rangers wished winger Eros Grezda a happy birthday on their official Twitter account on Monday after he turned 24 – but some Gers fans have replied by discussing his future with the Glasgow giants.
Steven Gerrard opted to raid Europa League qualifying opponents NK Osijek for a second time, after signing Borna Barisic from the Croatian side. The Gers paid a whopping £2.7million to sign Grezda (24 Sata).
But it has been a difficult season for the Albania international. Indeed, he has only managed to play 17 times in all competitions for Rangers. His only goals came in the form of a brace during the 7-1 win over Motherwell.
Grezda is seen by many as a waste of money given that he has hardly impressed. Nevertheless, Rangers posted on Twitter to wish the skilful winger a happy birthday as he turned 24 on Monday.
The likes of Ryan Kent, Daniel Candeias and Glenn Middleton have played above Grezda this season. The Albanian star has failed to permanently shake off an injury.
With Jordan Jones set to move to Ibrox this summer on a free from Kilmarnock and Jamie Murphy returning, it remains to be seen what kind of game time Grezda will get next season – if any.
Rangers fans reacted on Twitter to the post from their club’s official account, and many replied by discussing his future at Ibrox, despite having a contract until the summer of 2022. One fan Tweeted: “Sell him”.
