Rangers are reportedly looking to bring Lanus right-back Leonel Di Placido to Ibrox this summer with James Tavernier being linked with Crystal Palace – and Rangers fans have reacted on Twitter.
TalkSPORT claimed in an exclusive that 25-year-old Di Placido is a target for the Gers, after the Argentine entered the last 12 months of his contract with top-tier side Lanus. It means he is allowed to leave on the cheap.
The report claims Rangers are in the market for Di Placido, who is available for a bargain £1million. But Steven Gerrard’s side are not alone in their pursuit of the right-back, with Amiens, Leganes and Espnayol also interested.

James Tavernier is being linked with a move to Crystal Palace and though the England window has closed, the Eagles are expected to remain interested in former Newcastle right-back Tavernier until January.
Di Placido enjoyed an excellent 2018-19 campaign with Lanus in the Argentina Primera Division, so much he earned a place in Lionel Scaloni’s national side for friendlies against Guatemala and Colombia.
Rangers fans, though, rubbished the reports that Rangers were looking at signing a right-back. The majority are confident that their captain Tavernier will remain at Rangers – at least until he wins the club’s 55th title.
