Rangers enjoyed a memorable night under the Ibrox lights as they beat Braga 3-2 in the first leg of their last 32 Europa League knockout contest.
Ianis Hagi’s brace and stunning solo goal from Joe Aribo ensured the Gers didn’t rue early goals by Fransergio and Abel Ruiz proved in vain.
Of course, Braga’s two goals could still help them qualify. A 1-0 home win next week would see Rangers dumped out of the competition but nonetheless this was a good victory.
The game provided the Light Blues with a welcome distraction from their domestic campaign. Since returning from the winter break, Gerrard has seen his team slip 10 points behind Celtic in the race for the title.
Last night might just revive the club’s fortunes though and the boss will now hope to see his charges play more like the team that won at Celtic before the mid-season interval.
Joe Aribo’s introduction from the bench proved pivotal for Rangers and his equalising goal was mesmerising. The ex-Charlton man was forced on at left-back but that didn’t stop him unleashing his creative spark.
Rangers fans were delighted with his contribution and here is a selection of tweets from the supporters on Aribo’s performance.
Good morning. Here's Joe Aribo reminding us all that it isn't blood that runs in the veins of Nigerians but sauce. Pure sauce pic.twitter.com/gvPhVZY5Cz

Still cannae get over that last night. Hagi & Aribo deserve MASSIVE plaudits for the way they stepped up a gear & got the crowd going & everyone else followed ?
Hagi signing is a MUST, No doubt about it.
G Kamara shouldn't get near that 11 for some time, he's been very poor

Hagi and Aribo were unstoppable. That against a team who just beat Benfica, just beat Porto in a final and are unbeaten in 10 games
Sorry, were unbeaten until they came to Glasgow
