Rangers produced a professional display to beat Lincoln Red Imps in a Europa League qualifier on Thursday afternoon – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter were majorly impressed with the performance of their defender Borna Barisic.
Steven Gerrard’s side recorded a 5-0 away victory in Gibraltar in the one-off second round Europa League qualifier.
The Gers will face Dutch outfit Willem II in the next qualifying match, as they look to go all the way to the Europa League group stages.
James Tavernier scored the opening goal of the contest with a stunning free-kick in the first-half, before Connor Goldson’s powerful header from a Barisic corner put the Scottish giants 2-0 ahead at half-time.
Substitutes Alfredo Morelos (two) and Jermain Defoe both got on the scoresheet in the second-half to secure a comprehensive win in the end.
A selection of Rangers supporters on social media picked out Barisic for once again being a top performer for the Ibrox outfit.
The 27-year-old left-back was given a license to be an attacking threat against inferior opposition and showed his quality on the ball.
He’s now managed five assists in eight games across all competitions this season and is so reliable both offensively and defensively for Gerrard’s side.
Here are some Rangers fans discussing Barisic:
