Rangers earned a comfortable 2-0 win at Ibrox over Brondby in the Europa League – but fans have questioned the decision to take Alfredo Morelos off.

Steven Gerrard’s side came into the match having suffered defeats to Lyon and Sparta Prague in their opening two games. That changed on Thursday.

Rangers opened the scoring when Leon Balogun showed aggression, rising highest to nod home James Tavenier’s corner. It was 2-0 moments later.

Kemar Roofe looked offside when scoring, but VAR ruled a stray leg ruled him onside. A brilliant win for Rangers, who managed the second half well.

The win sees them reignite their Europa League campaign; Lyon coming from 2-0 down to beat Sparta Prague 3-2. Now, one point behind Sparta.

But fans questioned the decision, made by Gerrard and his coaching staff, to take off Morelos on 70 minutes. He was replaced by Fashion Sakala.

What are Rangers fans saying about Morelos going off?

Morelos, 25, is in search of his 100th club goal for Rangers – having netted 99 in his 197 appearances in all competitions for the Gers.

But his form has been questionable this season. The striker only has five goals and two assists in 16 games – Roofe certainly impressing, more so.

But fans were not impressed with Gerrard and his decision to take off Morelos with 20 left. Some feel Roofe was more deserving to go off.

Others feel sorry for Morelos, with the striker unlucky not to score on the night – crashing an effort against the post.
